Test Writing: Start Word

Imported By: Geoffrey Challen
/ Version: 2021.5.0

Given a String input and a String word, we'll say that word matches input if it appears at the front of input, except its first char does not need to match exactly. On a match, return the front of input, or otherwise return the empty string. So, so with the input "hippo" the word "hi" returns "hi" and the word "xip" returns "hip". word will be at least length 1.

Test Design Challenge

You're challenge is to write tests for this problem described above.

  • Provide a method named test that accepts no arguments and does not return a value.
  • If the implementation of the class described above is incorrect, your test method should throw an exception.
  • If it is correct, do not throw an exception.
  • You may want to use Kotlin's assert or check methods
fun startWord(
input: String,
word: String,
): String {
return "" // You may need to remove this starter code
}
